Affiliate disclosure
How this directory pays for itself, in plain terms.
Last updated: 3 November 2026
The short version
Many of the links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy something after clicking one, we may receive a commission from the vendor. The commission is paid by the vendor out of its own margin. It is never added to your price.
Those commissions are what keep Ultimate Tools free for everyone who reads it, with no subscription and no paywall.
How it actually works
We join the affiliate programme a vendor already runs. Our outbound links pass through ultimatetools.eu/go/…, which records nothing about you and forwards you straight to the vendor with the tag that identifies us. If a purchase follows, the vendor reports it to us in aggregate and pays a percentage. You pay what you would have paid arriving any other way.
Discount codes and offers
Many of the discount codes and offers on this site come from our partnership with the vendor, and some are reserved for our readers. Using one never costs you more: often you pay less than you would arriving from the vendor's own site. Each offer shows its expiry date when the vendor gives us one, and expired offers are marked as such.
What it does not change
We do not promote every affiliate programme on offer. We assess a tool before we recommend it, and we pass on the commission when it is not something we would recommend to our readers.
Commission does not buy a listing, a ranking or a good word. Tools are added because they belong in the catalogue, ordered by rating and by the filters you choose, and described the same way whether or not there is a programme behind them. Plenty of tools listed here pay us nothing at all.
The newsletter also carries paid sponsors. When an issue has a sponsor, the opening slot and the text ads are paid for by the brand that appears in them, even where they do not carry the word “sponsor”, and the same applies to issues in the archive. Any paid placement that may appear on this site will be labelled on the page where it appears and never disguised as an ordinary listing.
What we check, and what we cannot
Listings are reviewed before they go in and revisited over time. Even so, vendors change their prices, plans and offers whenever they like, and they do not tell us when they do. Treat what the vendor shows you at checkout as the truth, and this directory as the map that got you there. If you find something out of date, tell us and we will fix it.
Whether to buy is always your call. Your contract is with the vendor, on the vendor's terms: we are not a party to the purchase and are not responsible for what happens on third-party sites. For problems with an order, a refund or a subscription, contact the vendor.
Why we disclose this
Because you are entitled to know who pays for what you are reading. It is also required: EU and Spanish rules on unfair commercial practices oblige us to make a material connection clear, and the US Federal Trade Commission requires the same of anyone recommending a product it earns from.
The data side of a click-through — what the vendor may set in your browser afterwards — is covered in the privacy policy and the cookie policy.
